A compact protein bar behaves differently during product feeding than a loosely structured granola bar or a delicate baked product. Coatings, irregular surfaces and product crumbs can also affect how smoothly the packaging process runs and how reliably the film is sealed.

In flow wrap packaging, the package is formed directly from a roll of film during the machine process. The film is guided around the product and then sealed longitudinally and at both ends.
tbs-pack customizes its Castelli® rollstock packaging films to the specific product, packaging format and machine. Material structure, film thickness, barrier properties and sealing performance influence both product protection and smooth film transport through the packaging machine.
Depending on the application, Castelli® OPP or CPP films can be used. Recyclable mono-material film structures can also be evaluated, provided they meet the necessary product protection requirements and ensure reliable machine performance.
The packaging film can be custom-printed to reflect individual branding requirements. Different protein bar or snack varieties can therefore share a consistent brand identity while remaining clearly distinguishable through colors, product names and design elements.
alpha-pack configures the appropriate horizontal flow wrapping machine for the specific packaging process.
Products are fed individually into the machine at regular intervals. The packaging film then wraps around each bar and is sealed longitudinally and transversely to create the finished flow wrap package. Depending on production requirements, additional components can be integrated, including automatic feeding systems, date coding, labeling equipment and inspection systems.
For production lines with frequent product changeovers, format adjustment and the ability to reproduce stored machine settings are particularly important. These features help operators return to the appropriate packaging parameters more quickly after switching between product varieties or formats.
tbs-pack supplies suitable Castelli® rollstock film and adapts the material, printed design and sealing properties to the specific application. alpha-pack plans and configures the horizontal flow wrapping machine, including product feeding systems and additional inspection technology.
Before production begins, the actual product, packaging film and machine can be tested together under practical operating conditions. Commissioning, maintenance, repairs and technical support complete the packaging solution.
